Antonio Marin Montero – Cypress and Spruce, 2010
For more information about the guitar builder click here
Antonio Marin’s guitars are one of the best sounding and one of the prettiest instruments I’ve ever selected. His instruments are still reasonably priced, even though they are very popular in the United States and Japan. His guitars are well balanced in tone with trebles that have a sweet touch. This is typical for guitars of the Granada school. The finish of Antonio’s guitars is always of excellent quality and they look beautiful. This particular instrument is something very special. It has a longer than usual scale of 66cm. The guitar has a lot of power and the basses are very punchy and dark. The trebles are very piercing. Asked about it, Antonio couldn’t tell me if this had anything to do with the longer than usual scale. It was an experiment which obviously paid off!
